Vidness is a project on memory practices in the digital age, dealing with the traces of Nazi history in Brandenburg, and specifically the area surrounding the former Ravensbrück concentration camp. Vidness was created as part of the SPUR.lab research project between 2021 and 2023. A variety of videos, many of them in 360°, can be explored on site or from a distance using an augmented reality app. These videos show a variety of memory practices: documentary explorations, interviews and discussions with survivors, experts and visitors, as well as narrative and artistic approaches that critically examine the question of how and whether the traumatic events between 1933 and 1945 can be depicted in terms of content and imagery.

Users can access all video documents on a map. Using the "explore" mode, the videos are displayed on your screen as AR spheres and can be viewed at the exact site where they were originally recorded. The project is designed as an open platform, with further content and locations to follow.
